Meet Your Doula

Hi there! I'm Ash'Leigh,  a certified full spectrum doula and childbirth educator serving the DC, MD, and VA areas within 40 miles of 22033.

As a doula, I believe every mother deserves  a positive birth experience that empowers them to make informed choices about their care. Therefore, I am committed to supporting mothers and families in all aspects of their pregnancy journey, including prenatal education, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care.

I strongly believe in medical freedom and informed consent, which means that I support your right to make your own decisions about your care, and I will work with you to ensure that you have all the information you need to make informed choices. I believe that every mother deserves to be treated

with respect and dignity, and I am passionate about advocating for your needs and preferences throughout your pregnancy and birth experience. As a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) mom, I understand the challenges and rewards of advocating for your desired birth. I am dedicated to supporting other moms whether you are seeking a VBAC birth, medicated/unmedicated, in or out of hospital. I am committed to championing their needs throughout the process.

Ultimately, my goal as a doula and childbirth educator is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that enables you to feel empowered and confident as you bring your new baby into the world. I am honored to be a part of your journey, and I look forward to supporting you every step of the way.

My Why?

After having a traumatic "emergency" c-section and  being told I could not VBAC  for my next pregnancy, a fire was lit inside of me. I knew that in my situation, a VBAC was a good (and safe) decision for my body. I found a birth center that was more than supportive of my choice to VBAC and also hired a doula to help me through my journey. Fighting for what I wanted was  my most redemptive experience to date. My third birth experience was one where my body was allowed to do what it was meant to do...in a safe and welcoming environment with no unnecessary interventions. Having labored at home and successfully delivered unmedicated, my mind was made up, I needed to share everything I learned and experienced firsthand. At that point, I knew for sure that I wanted to help other women experience this. I need other women to know that "no" is a complete answer and that trusting your body is more than okay. You deserve to birth the way you desire.
